  • There are always more oily ingredients of varied derivation of which the importance of prevention as factors towards several chronic-degenerative diseases is experimentally and epidemiologically demonstrated. In some cases (as for the fish oil and in general for oils rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids of the omega-3 and omega-6 series) the biological functions that characterize them are so strong as to be even placed in an area of border between supplements and drugs. In order to take full advantage of these properties and, in some cases, obviate the unfavorable organoleptic characteristics, the administration should be through appropriate dosage forms. The choice is almost always softgel which, however, poses a number of problems, especially due to the availability of the plant, the higher costs, the large batches. With the Powder Oils line these difficulties are overcome, because, thanks to the pulverization, the liquid ingredient can be worked in solid pharmaceutical forms (capsules, tablets, sachets, etc.) using standard production lines.

The oil powder processing takes place by adsorption on suitable support, usually composed of silica particles (mesoporous silica or granuled fumed silica); alternatively, as in the case of algal DHA, it turns to processes of micro-encapsulation by spray dry. The end result is a series of free-flowing, compressible powders, that can easily be encapsulated and well compatible with the other ingredients and excipients commonly used in solid formulations and with normal rigid gelatin capsules.

At gastro-intestinal level, the oil is easily desorbs from the support ensuring the bioavailability of its active components.

The range of Powder Oils Nutraceutical includes: marine oils (fish, krill, algal DHA), vegetal oils with high assay of polyunsaturated fatty acids (chia, blackcurrant, borage, flaxseed, evening primrose, sacha inchi, moringa oleifera, sunflower), CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) and MCT (medium chain triglycerides), tea tree oil.
